2018 Budburst

Each year the wineries of Macedon Ranges celebrate the ‘budburst’ of their vines - when new leaves break through after the dormant winter months. Wineries in the area take the opportunity to open their doors to the public for one weekend in November in an effort to showcase their wines and make a few sales! They put on music and food and basically create a fun festival atmosphere for the weekend. There are busses that you can hop on and off or you can self-drive (designated driver!) or stay put at your favourite winery for the whole afternoon or weekend.

This year our vineyard, Mount Monument (MM), is taking part for the first time and we would love you to join us. We have even designed a few special items to commemorate the occasion (read: lure you there) with benefits to you for years to come.

2018 is the perfect time to drink our 2014 Pinot Noir so this is one of the vintages that we will be promoting across the weekend. As it is truly exceptional, we would like to offer it to our friends first - prior to the ‘crush’.

A case of Pinot Noir normally retails at $480/case but we are offering it to you for $360/case. As a further incentive, we have created an ‘early adopter’ limited edition MM backpack that accompanies the sale of each case (if you’re really not a red wine drinker we will swap it for Chardonnay). This backpack entitles you to a free bottle of MM wine for every two bottles that you purchase during this or future Budbursts.

If a twelve pack is simply too expensive for you, don’t despair, we also have a six-pack deal for . Instead of the backpack you receive a custom designed ‘wine stool’ designed by Fold Theory for this very event. Your hexagonal wine stool can contain six bottles of 2014 Pinot Noir or two bottles of 2015 Pinot Noir, two bottles of 2016 Chardonnay and two bottles of 2017 Riesling. And if you need a little rest after all the running around of the weekend you can just put it down and sit on it. It can support at least 300kg with or without the bottles inside it. Made of sustainable corrugated cardboard, this stool can be disassembled to pack flat until you next need it. So while it won’t get you free bottles of wine in the future, it will bring some serious kudos to your lounge room.
